Sustainability Assessment of Urban Waterscape Belt Ecological Reconstruction Based on LCA–Emergy–Carbon Emission Methodology

Rivers play a key role in regulating urban ecology, which can improve climate while slowing the heat island effect. As one of embodied energy field emergy theory be used to quantitatively evaluate ecological characteristics system. This will help further explore sustainability this article. In study, four riverbank reconstruction projects have been executed restore ecology along banks Jinchuan River Nanjing, China, focus on river–lakeside and waterfront space main area. The LCA–emergy–carbon emission method was applied through series indicators, including indexes carbon indicators. It is important distinguish prior research, few utilized approach waterways waterscapes. results illustrate that system has obvious improvement significance whole river ecology. change also seen when using LCA–emergy analysis. 20-year cycle, material production stage maintenance phase account for major share, followed by construction stage, transportation process, design process stage. (ESI indicator) improved after carrying out projects. By choosing water gravel as primary material, reduced. treatment accounts vast majority emissions. Secondly, plays an emission.
